My theoretical approach is called "Integrative Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy and Counselling". This means that I offer therapy according to the needs of my clients; because in the same way we all have different personalities, we have different ways of making sense of things.
My approach to psychotherapy and counselling focuses on the strengths and inner qualities of the individual and how these, when supported, can enable their psychological well-being. During the course of life, people face unexpected changes, or have unresolved childhood issues. These issues can be emotionally painful, and make life feel less enjoyable, affecting a persons relationships with others.
By engaging in psychotherapy/counselling the individual is educating themselves through their inner exploration of internal beliefs, thus creating the capacity to identify one's needs which enhances the search for the best way to meet them. Individuals living in the present, with self-knowledge, have the capacity to live life more fully. People are fundamentally OK, each person regardless of their behaviour, has a basic core that is worthy of love, respect and acceptance. Each individual has the capacity to think, to make decisions and assume responsibility for their own actions, having the potential for change and growth.
Psychotherapy and counselling aim to improve feelings of self-worth, increase your feelings of well-being and help alleviate distress and discomfort.
